The Service Technician at Nextran Truck Centers is a skilled position that is responsible for repairing and maintaining our customer's Medium & Heavy-Duty Trucks. This includes preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and reassembly, and writing detailed work notes.
Essential Duties
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer skills
- Up to Two years related experience and/or training as a Technician.
- Valid CDL License a plus, recommended within 1 year of hiring.
