Instruction & Curriculum:
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to state standards
Teach foundational skills in reading, phonics, writing, math, science, and social studies
Incorporate play-based and hands-on learning experiences
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Integrate technology appropriately into instruction
Support English Language Learners (ELL) and students with special needs
Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
Conduct baseline and ongoing assessments (academic and developmental)
Monitor student growth in literacy and numeracy
Maintain accurate student records and portfolios
Analyze data to inform instruction
Prepare report cards and progress reports
Classroom Environment & Management:
Establish routines and procedures that promote safety and independence
Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment
Teach social-emotional skills (sharing, cooperation, problem-solving)
Model and reinforce positive behavior
Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and arrival/dismissal
Social-Emotional Development:
Foster a positive classroom community
Support conflict resolution among students
Recognize and respond to developmental needs
Collaborate with counselors or support staff as needed
Family Communication:
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
Conduct parent-teacher conferences
Share strategies for supporting learning at home
Notify families of academic or behavioral concerns
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities:
Participate in grade-level and school team meetings
Collaborate with special education, ESE, ELL, and intervention staff
Attend professional development trainings
Contribute to school events and initiatives
Follow district policies and state regulations
Compliance & Documentation:
Implement IEPs and 504 plans as required
Complete required documentation within timelines
Maintain confidentiality of student records
