Position Overview

The Tax Associate is a client-facing role responsible for delivering tax compliance, advisory, and planning services while building strong relationships with clients throughout the year. This position is ideal for a technically strong and service-oriented professional who enjoys working directly with business owners, CEOs, CFOs and individuals to help them navigate complex tax matters and identify planning opportunities.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, communicative, and comfortable managing multiple client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
  • Assist clients with ongoing tax planning, advisory, and compliance matters.
  • Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsiveness, communication, and proactive service.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and planning strategies for clients.
  • Research tax issues and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal team members.
  • Assist clients with notices, tax authority correspondence, and related matters.
  • Support onboarding and setup processes for new clients.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
  • Contribute to operational improvements, workflow efficiencies, and client experience initiatives.
  • Stay current on tax law changes, regulatory developments, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
  • Active CPA, EA, or JD credential required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of public accounting or tax advisory experience.
  • Experience preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with small business owners, real estate investors, and high-net-worth clients preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional client service.

Compensation

The total combined salary and bonus range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience.
