Nursery / Greenhouse Worker
Schedule/Hours: Monday and Wednesday - 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday - 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Additional hours with special events)

This position is responsible for:

Provides care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a nursery; changes babies' diapers and clothes and ensures their personal hygiene and safety; feeds and cleans babies, toddlers and preschoolers; comforts and plays with children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors all children's behavior and activities in a constant manner ensuring their health and safety at all times.

  • Facilitates times of learning and exploration for children, providing for times of Christian discipleship.

  • Responds to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner; notifies appropriate management and parents of any problems or incidents.

  • Ensures the nursery is maintained in a safe and clean manner at all times.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

  • Ability to observe children and endure their safety.

  • Ability to lift, hold, and carry infants and toddlers on a continuous basis weighing up to 25 lbs.

  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of siting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required AND

  • Six months experience caring for babies in a nursery environment OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
