We are seeking a dependable and experienced part-time Sous Chef to join our team at a 40-bed private mental health facility. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who can support kitchen leadership, maintain high food service standards, and contribute to a safe and positive dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily kitchen operations and assume leadership when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff
  • Assist in ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations
  • Help manage inventory and place supply orders as directed
  • Monitor food usage and assist with basic cost reporting
  • Contribute to planning and developing creative, nutritious menus
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Support training and guidance for kitchen staff in food preparation and safety

Requirements

  • ServSafe Certification (Required)
  • All employment offers require successful completion of a drug screening, including testing for THC/marijuana
  • Previous experience in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role (restaurant or healthcare setting preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, handling, and preparation standards
  • Basic skills in menu planning and cost control
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience assisting with staff training, evaluations, or interviews
  • Knowledge of industry health and safety regulations
