Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay: $24+ Hourly, Based on Experience

Travel & night work may be required. MUST be able to work out of town and nights.


ITS Technician Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment.
  • Install and service equipment including cameras, dynamic message signs, detection devices, communications equipment, and related electrical components.
  • Perform testing and diagnostics to identify and resolve equipment or system issues.
  • Read and follow project plans, specifications, schematics, and work orders.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other required equipment.
  • Follow FDOT, project, and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for company tools and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other project personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in ITS, traffic signal, roadway electrical, or a related field is required.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting ITS equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage systems, communications equipment, and related tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system issues.
  • Ability to read and follow construction plans, specifications, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work safely in roadway and construction environments.
  • Must be able to work outdoors, travel, and work nights, weekends, overtime, and out of town as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • DOT experience required
  • CDL Class A, IMSA, Maintenance of Traffic and Crane (rigging, signaling, operating) certifications are preferred.
  • Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing.

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, digging using a shovel, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50lbs.
