The Position

This Paralegal role supports attorneys and manages foreclosure matters throughout all stages of the default process, from referral through post-sale resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment while ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, court rules, and client requirements. This role requires effective communication with clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams, as well as the ability to handle a high-volume caseload, maintain accurate case records, and provide overall support to the firm's default services practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support foreclosure matters from referral through post-sale resolution, assisting attorneys with case progression in compliance with applicable state laws, court rules, and client guidelines.
  • Conduct and review title searches and related documentation to identify ownership interests, liens, and encumbrances, and flag issues impacting foreclosure strategy or timeline.
  • Prepare and coordinate first legal filings, service of process, affidavits, motions, and other foreclosure-related documents, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Assist Attorneys with motion practice preparation, discovery tasks and MSJ and/or Trial preparation.
  • Abilities to assist Attorneys with scheduling and efiling.
  • Monitor service, judgment, sale, and post-sale milestones, track deadlines, and maintain case status within the firm's case management systems.
  • Assist with judgment preparation and sale coordination, including payoff review, sale scheduling, reporting, and follow-up the applicable Clerk of Court.
  • Handle post-sale tasks such as deed preparation and recording, curative work, surplus or deficiency documentation, and related correspondence.
  • Assist with any eviction cases as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams to provide status updates, respond to inquiries, and resolve routine issues efficiently.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5-year Florida foreclosure experience
  • Broad knowledge of real estate default services
  • Experience in LPS, Caseaware, Tempo, etc. is a plus.
  • Superior organizational skills, research, and writing skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Independent worker; Deadline driven
  • Able to manage a heavy workload
  • Confident and comfortable on the phone
  • Works well under pressure
