The Department of Statistics at Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure-track Assistant in Research or Associate in Research faculty position in Biostatistics. The successful candidate will join one of the nation's oldest and most reputable statistics departments and contribute to an established, growing biostatistics research program through collaborative biomedical, clinical, translational, and population health research across a comprehensive research university.

The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with investigators from FSU Health, the College of Medicine, and other interdisciplinary research programs and centers across FSU on the study design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
- Provide statistical expertise in the application of appropriate modern statistical and computational methods.
- Contribute to preparing and participating in grant applications, research protocols, manuscripts, presentations, and other scholarly products.
- Communicate statistical methods and findings effectively to collaborators from diverse scientific and clinical backgrounds.
- Promote rigorous and reproducible research through appropriate statistical research collaboration.
- Contribute to the Department's interdisciplinary research initiatives and broader scholarly and research mission.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field is required by the time of appointment.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong training in statistical methodology, data analysis, and proficiency in statistical programming software such as R, SAS, Python, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated potential for effective collaboration in biomedical, clinical, translational, public health, or other interdisciplinary research settings.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain statistical concepts to collaborators from other disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple collaborative research projects and work effectively both independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience communicating and collaborating effectively with investigators from non-statistical disciplines.
