Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong accounting knowledge and advanced Excel skills to support multi-company financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role involves managing intercompany activity, reconciling accounts, and working with large datasets across multiple Excel workbooks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, ensuring supporting documentation is complete for multiple companies.
  • Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain multiple Profit & Loss statements across multiple companies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close and maintain general ledger accuracy, including accruals and expense allocations.
  • Assist with rollforward schedules (e.g., fixed assets, leases, prepaids, accruals) as assigned.
  • Reconcile Point-of-Sale (POS) activity to ensure all revenue is accurately recorded.
  • Create and maintain advanced Excel reports using Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other advanced functions.
  • Work with large datasets and multiple linked Excel workbooks.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and reconciling items in the general ledger.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Provide documentation and assistance for internal and external audits.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Candidates should be comfortable working with large datasets, linked workbooks, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and complex formulas.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
