The Product Development Technician will support the Product Development Department by maintaining competitor manuals, filing and rate spreadsheets, data entry, forms typesetting and user acceptance testing. This position may be utilized to perform research, production review of policies or any other task/function as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Responsible for maintaining multiple Excel spreadsheets.
- Obtains information and files from the Office of Insurance/Department of Insurance websites.
- Typesetting and data entry of policy documents in multiple databases.
- Perform quality assurance and user acceptance testing to ensure accuracy of forms, rates and system functionality.
- Maintain forms, manuals, directories and files.
- Audit data for accuracy.
- Receptive to recommendations for accuracy and improvement when one’s own work is peered.
- Ensure work is accurate and employee continues to develop within their position.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates must possess an Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, e-mails and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to other employees of the organization.
Ability to conduct simple mathematical tasks – including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
